Why do we believe it’s so important to play jokes on one’s coworkers? Laughter is a wonderful thing. It wakes you up, helps you bond with people, and can help you forget boredom, trauma, or anxietiy. Just like cold brew, Foosball, and birthday cake, harmless pranks make it more attractive to work in an office.
Last week we gave a few suggestions for April Fools’ jokes that are safe for work. And we promised to share any jokes or pranks that our subscribers sent in. We got nothing, but we still played a prank of our own and it worked splendidly.
Friday Goody Bag’s founder says: “A sticker on our company’s water cooler advised that an upgrade had been made and now it was voice activated. I waited patiently all day, and finally at 3:30 p.m. I was rewarded. Frank and Joe (not their real names) were in the kitchen. Frank had apparently been asking the water cooler: “Hey Quench, cold water” and Joe had caught him in the act. It took me five minutes to stop laughing.”
