Naturally, you decide to delete a few things on that extra page. But now the original page break, which you wanted, also disappears. The only reliable way I’ve found to troubleshoot this is to show your editing marks. There are a few ways to do this — whenever you’re looking for how to do something in Word, the best way to find it is to type the command you want in the little search bar at the top right of the document. Type in “Show” and you’ll get the menu to show or hide the editing marks. Then you’ll be able to see the page break, as well as any other characters that are making it move a whole extra page forward. Select and delete those characters and leave the page break character alone. When the document has the correct page breaks, then you can go back to your little search bar and type “Hide” and select “Show / Hide Editing Marks” again to toggle off all the formatting characters.
